In the app’s settings or information area, the app can fetch up to three recommendations for our other apps. The choices depend on the app you are using, App Store availability and iOS compatibility, not on your personal data or activity inside the app. App icons load from Apple’s image servers. Opening a recommendation takes you to the App Store with a campaign label identifying the source app and placement, never a person.
We count qualified views and successful opens in aggregate. Our service stores daily counts with the source app, recommended app, placement, configuration revision and optional presentation variant. It does not store an account, advertising identifier, device identifier, persistent visitor identifier or personal profile, and it does not receive the app’s private content. These counts cannot tell us who installed an app.
The recommendation service is hosted by Supabase. Network requests necessarily expose an IP address to the hosting provider for delivery and security; our aggregate counter does not store it. See Supabase’s privacy policy. Apple processes icon requests and App Store visits under Apple’s privacy policy.
Minimum Effort has no account, no sign-in. The optional recommendation service receives no private game content. Your careers, your record board and your settings stay on your iPhone, and gameplay is not transmitted to the recommendation service. The free version does show advertising, delivered by Google's Mobile Ads SDK. Where it appears and what leaves the device for it is set out under "Advertising in the free version" below. Buying either of the two in-app purchases removes the advertising completely.
Your careers, your record board and your two settings are written to a file inside the app's own container on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes that file. The in-app "Erase everything" button deletes it without removing the app.
The free version of Minimum Effort shows advertising. It appears as a banner along the bottom of the title screen and of the record board, and as one full screen advert when you tap "Next day" on the result screen at the end of a workday. It never appears during a workday and never over the settlement of the day itself. The full screen advert is capped hard: none at all until three workdays have been finished, then at most one per launch of the app, never sooner than three finished workdays after the previous one and never sooner than three minutes after it. Buying the Career Pack or the Home Office Pack removes the advertising entirely. For a buyer the advertising kit is not merely quiet: no consent form, no tracking prompt and no advertising SDK is started at all.
The adverts are delivered by the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and Google LLC elsewhere. To fill an advert slot, Google receives technical data from the device such as an IP address, device and operating system characteristics and, if you allow it, an advertising identifier.
| Data type | Processed by the app | Reaches a third party |
|---|---|---|
| Careers, record board, settings | Written to your device only | No. It is never passed to the advertising kit or to anyone else |
| Advertising identifier (IDFA) | Only if you allow it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt | Google, for advertising, and only with your permission |
| Technical request data for an advert | Sent by Google's kit when an advert is loaded | Google, on the basis of your consent |
| Contact details, location, purchase history | No | No |
Your consent comes first. Before the advertising kit is started at all, the app shows Google's User Messaging Platform consent form, and iOS then asks its own App Tracking Transparency question. Only after that does any advert load. The legal basis is your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future: open Settings in the game and choose Advertising privacy choices, which reopens the consent form. That entry is shown whenever the consent form requires it.
Google's own processing is described at policies.google.com/privacy and, for advertising specifically, at business.safety.google/privacy. Alongside Google’s advertising kit and consent form, the app uses the anonymous recommendation counts described below. It contains no crash reporting SDK of ours.
There are two, and both are one-time non-consumable in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple: the Career Pack, which unlocks the Consulting and Investment Banking tracks, and the Home Office Pack, which unlocks the Home Office track. Neither is a subscription and nothing recurs. Owning either one removes the advertising. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name. The app asks Apple's StoreKit whether this device owns a purchase and receives yes or no. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction: apple.com/legal/privacy.
The pages of this site that describe the game use Vercel Web Analytics, a measurement service of the hosting provider. It is cookieless: it sets no cookie, stores no identifier on your device and builds no profile. It counts page views and clicks on the App Store button, together with the place of that button on the page and the path of the page. Nothing from it is evaluated personally and nothing from it is passed on to third parties. This privacy page, the terms page and the support page load no script at all.
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. Its privacy policy is at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Minimum Effort is a satire about office work and is not directed at children. Your private game content stays in the local save file and is not sent to the recommendation service. The recommendation and hosting requests described above use anonymous aggregate counts and technical connection data. Advertising in the free version is processed by Google and starts only after the consent described above. We do not knowingly process personal data of children under 16 years of age.
